Recycling: Make a Fascinator
Time & Location
About This Workshop
In this workshop, you'll learn to turn a hat into a fabulous new fascinator - just in time for the Spring Racing Carnival! Professional seamstress and dressmaker Barbara Niglio will share her years of creative experience as she takes you through the process of creating and decorating a fascinator, using an old hat as a starting point. You'll also learn some basic design and millinery skills along the way. Bring along an old hat to work with if you have one, otherwise you can choose one from Barbara's collection. You should have basic hand stitching abilities.
Date: Saturday 9 September
Materials fee: $20 to be paid directly to the tutor on the day.
Most materials will be supplied for this workshop. The tutor has some hats that can be cut up and remodelled, and she will supply a comb or headband as a base for the fascinator. There will also be some fabric and trims available. You may like to bring a coordinating selection of feathers, fabrics, beads, ribbons or other trims. We also have ribbons, braids, beads etc for sale in store.
