About This Workshop

In this is one-day workshop you'll learn how to repurpose linens and doilies into useful items ideal as gifts just in time for Fete season, or as a Christmas present for that special friend.

Students are required to bring: your own sewing machine in good working order with zipper foot included, sharp scissors and pins, rotary cutter, ruler and self-healing mat, fabric - main - large linen Fat 1/4, Lining - 50cm, zips - 10" & 8", linen pieces for embellishment, pellon - 50cm, coordinating machine thread, 5' x 7" minimum piece of templastic.

About the Tutor: Deb Layt is an Internationally awarded Textile Artist who has been in the Sewing Machine Industry for 30 years. She is a well-known Tutor and, having owned her own Patchwork shop in the past, has a vast array of knowledge. Deb’s practice ranges from traditional patchwork and quilting to innovative textile art. She is always experimenting with different techniques and products looking for fun and easy ways to express her art. Deb is currently on a journey of repurposing to not only reduce waste but also her extensive collection of fibre products.
