About This Workshop

In this is one-day workshop you will use a neutral background and enhance it using various linens and doilies of your choice. This new fabric will then be made into a linen tote bag ready to go shopping in just one day.

Students are required to bring: your own sewing machine in good working order, sharp scissors and pins, fabric - 50cm main, 50cm lining, 50cm pellon, a variety of linen and doily pieces for embellisment, coordinating sewing machine threads, rotary cutter, ruler and mat.

Tutor: Deb Layt is an Internationally awarded Textile Artist who has been in the Sewing Machine Industry for 30 years. She is a well-known Tutor and, having owned her own Patchwork shop in the past, has a vast array of knowledge. Deb’s practice ranges from traditional patchwork and quilting to innovative textile art. She is always experimenting with different techniques and products looking for fun and easy ways to express her art. Deb is currently on a journey of repurposing to not only reduce waste but also her extensive collection of fibre products.
