Knotless Netting
Time & Location
About This Workshop
Knotless netting is an ancient and culturally universal basketry technique that forms a mesh without using any knots. It is versatile enough to make carry bags, amulet bags, fishing nets or just to decorate a simple stone or stick.
You will create and take home a decorated item or small amulet bag. These small bags are designed to be a piece of jewellery rather than a bag but originally amulets carried something sacred or precious. You may make yours large enough to hold a mobile phone or small enough for a secret. Cover a rock with netting and it can become a necklace. Or make a Christmas decoration.
