About This Workshop

Opendrawer's Jewellery Lab is a place for you to find help while working on a project or repairing jewellery. It's all about brushing up on old techniques and discovering new ones, under the guidance of tutor Claudine McPherson. Sessions are held twice monthly at different times so you're sure to find one that fits your schedule.

If you have projects that you need help to start or to finish, or if you have a stash of beads or a piece that needs redoing, then Jewellery Lab is the perfect session for you to refresh your skills and get all the individual instruction you need while you experiment and create. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings and all sorts are welcome. If you've attended any of Claudine's previous classes and need to recap techniques, gain extra practice, or seek extra personal instruction, then come along and BYO project and any tools you might have. Claudine will be on hand for anything else you need. She'll come with a full tool kit, and asks only for a gold coin donation to replace things for the next classes. If you require sterling silver fittings, these will be available at a very reasonable cost. Opendrawer also has a wide selection of beads and cord available for purchase if needed. Note: Jewellery Lab requires some jewellery making experience (however rusty your skills might be!).

Dates: Friday 8 November, 2019.

Time: 10am to 12:30am

Cost: $65 for each Lab session - book as few or as many as you wish.

Tutor: Claudine McPherson has been threading pearls for 25 years and currently does all the stringing and repairs for Ashburton Jewellery in High Street, Ashburton. Claudine's jewellery is ever-popular in Opendrawer's shop, as are her workshops and lessons.
