About This Workshop
Our handwriting is unique to each of us. During this workshop we will experiment with how rhythm, repetition and the tools we write with can add character and interest to our writing. You may even generate a new style of handwriting, as well as learning simple embellishments. You will be guided in this exploration by experienced calligrapher, Deirdre Hassed. No prerequisites... just your own handwriting!
Students will take home an exercise book with numerous trials enhancing their own handwriting as well as a simple handmade book showcasing different tools and techniques.
What you will learn:
- How to free up your handwriting, adding rhythm and texture.
- To experiment with many different writing tools (ballpoints, fountain pens, pencils, crayons, calligraphy pens, brushes etc)
- Ideas to add interest to your writing in a journal or sketchbook.
